The Computer Science for All Initiative was announced by the President at the end of January to help provide an education in this area for all students, regardless of age. Oracle has now announced their support by investing $200 million to help the initiative. The investment will be spread over the next 18 months and is a part of Oracles worldwide $3.3 million investment.
With the investment, the initiative expected to reach over 230,000 students. The initiative was put in place due to the growing number of jobs in computer-science-related fields. Over 600,000 tech jobs went unfilled in the US in 2015 and many predict that about 51% of the STEM jobs will be in the field by the end of 2018.
