A $19 billion budget has been proposed by US President Barack Obama for US government cybersecurity. This budget is for the 2017 fiscal year and will increase by about $5 billion compared to the 2016 budget.
The budget increase will include $3.1 billion to help updated and modernized federal agency technology, if the proposal is approved by Congress. The budget also includes $62 million to attract and retain qualified employees. This will include offering student loan forgiveness and scholarships.
