(The Hosting News) – Top web hosting provider Rackspace will soon face a leadership shuffle. On Thursday, the company’s Lew Moorman revealed that he’d be stepping down from his dual role as president and chief strategy officer.
The announcement follows a March surgery for Moorman’s wife related to cancer.
“The job of president for a company of this size and speed is a 24×7 endeavor. Like many of you, when I am not here, my mind is still mainly focused on our work. I’ve found it a very rewarding trade because I get to build something special here with all of you. But, this is not a pace I can keep up in my current circumstances. And, you deserve full commitment from your leaders,” stated Moorman via the Rackspace blog.
The soon to be former president will not leave Rackspace, however; he’s expected to stay on as a part time employee in addition to staying on the company’s board of directors. In the meantime, Moorman will shift his responsibilities over to Rackspace’s “senior leadership” within the coming months.
Moorman has been employed with Rackspace since 2000. We wish him the best and know the entire web hosting community joins us in doing so.
Rackspace’s solutions include cloud hosting, managed hosting, email, apps and more.
