(The Hosting News) – Cloud management provider MangeIQ will be acquired by popular Linux OS operator Red Hat in a deal totaling $104 million. The company buy was announced Thursday.
The move appears to be a natural fit as ManageIQ was already a member of Red Hat’s partnership program.
“We are very excited to be joining Red Hat. Our strong virtual and cloud management solutions, highly differentiated technology and experienced team are a perfect fit with Red Hat. We share a common vision of cost effective, open and automated deployment and management of enterprise IT cloud resources,” commented ManageIQ co-founder Joe Fitzgerald in a press release.
Meanwhile, new services that will be added to Red Hat’s portfolio thanks to the deal include virtualization, hybrid cloud management along with an IaaS called CloudForms.
