(The Hosting News) – Runaware, the global leader in online demo solutions and cloud computing initiatives, today announced a partnership agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The partnership allows Amazon to leverage Runaware’s uniquely scalable, SaaS based cloud-shifting process when migrating third party applications to its Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) platform. In return, Runaware will be able to bring their TestDrive, TD Insight and Runaware in the Clouds offerings to Amazon customers and partners, helping them migrate their applications to the clouds as quickly as possible, at the lowest possible cost to them.
For more than 11 years, Runaware has been the only cloud provider to offer Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) a way to move their legacy (non-Web based) applications to the cloud in a manner that does not require software re-coding. Using its proprietary “cloud-shifting” process, Runaware precisely manipulates an application’s data configuration while leaving the application’s structure and code unchanged. This unique process results in vast time- and cost-savings for ISVs, as opposed to traditional re-coding of the application.
“Using our approach, the migration of an application onto the EC2 cloud platform that used to take two years and be very costly can now be done in two months at a very low cost,” says Tim Keyes, CEO of Runaware. “Our process has always supported seamless integration with Amazon’s platform, so this partnership is a logical move for both Runaware and AWS. Perhaps the biggest winners, however, are the ISVs.”
Runaware has proven the effectiveness of their “cloud-shifting” technique through their flagship product, TestDrive. Eliminating the need for trial CDs or time-consuming downloads, TestDrive allows prospective clients to demo software right from their web browser. Additionally, TD Insight provides ISVs with a way to record the online demos, allowing them to see how prospective clients are interacting with and using the software.
With this new partnership, enterprise customers as well as small and medium-sized businesses that wish to run their applications on Amazon’s EC2 platform will be able to use Runaware’s “cloud-shifting” process to make the transition exponentially faster and more cost-effective.
