(The Hosting News) – On Thursday, cloud hosting company Savvis announced that the U.S. Federal Election Commission had rewarded the company a five year, $9.98 million contract. Savvis will provide hosting for FEC.gov as well as various other IT solutions, including security and colocation.
In a press release, company Vice President David Shachochis (global public sector) stated, “We are excited about the opportunity to support the FEC with a flexible and scalable solution for application hosting and data protection.”
The company already provides cloud hosting services for other high profile U.S. government agencies such as the Small Business Administration.
Savvis was most recently acquired by telecommunications company CenturyLink in April.
The company reported a revenue of $933 million last year and operates 31 data centers worldwide.
