(The Hosting News) – Popular storage provider ScanDisk on Tuesday announced its intention to buy Smart Storage Systems for the reported price of $307 million.
The move delivers new SAS and SATA SSD solutions to ScanDisk’s product portfolio.
“This acquisition enables SanDisk to address a $1.6 billion market opportunity in enterprise SATA products, and complements our strong enterprise SAS product portfolio. With this combination, SanDisk will have products qualified with six of the top seven storage OEMs worldwide,” commented ScanDisk executive VP Sumit Sadana via a press release.
ScanDisk’s consumer products include things like SSDs, memory cards, USB storage and more.
