(The Hosting News) – Peak Hosting, the industry’s most trusted leader in Operations-as-a-Service, managed hosting services, and hybrid cloud computing, today announced that the fastest growing website in history to reach 20 million users, has a new resource that allows members to put their money where their pins are. New customer, ShopInterest, a highly integrated ecommerce application, is set to deliver ongoing economic activity for the third most popular social media network, Pinterest.
ShopInterest allows Pinterest members to turn their pin collections into virtual web shops, creating an online marketplace for buyers and sellers to do business within customized social accounts. “We wanted to develop an application that did more for the average user,” said Francisco Guerrero, co-founder of ShopInterest. “If we could help members generate income using their favorite items, then we’re taking a step in the right direction for a recovering economy.”
The ShopInterest’s transaction process has easy-to-follow prompts for users to get started. Sellers can set up a ShopInterest store by adding prices and descriptions to their Pinterest boards or by simply providing the images they need. Buyers receive a well-designed, integrated shopping cart experience as they select the items they want to purchase.
“As always we are excited to welcome ShopInterest and Pintics to Peak Hosting, states Founder and CEO Jeffrey Papen. “Our Peak Startup Act was conceived to support unique businesses to the marketplace where creation of jobs is of the utmost importance to our economy.”
ShopInterest is up and running now, and on its home page you can see products to buy. Guerrero mentioned: “We already have over 100 active shops selling thousands of unique items, so whether you like to shop or sell, you can go there!” The new website to can be found on the domain: http://www.shopinterest.co. “We want every seller to enjoy a well-designed online store that integrates well with Pinterest,” said Guerrero.
According to a recent ShopInterest blog post, the ShopInterest team, whose first service was building a Pinterest analytics suite at Pintics.com has decided to focus on ecommerce. They plan to offer their current Pintics users a transition to Pinfluencer.com. Pinfluencer’s CEO Sharad Verma said: “We are excited that Pintics chose Pinfluencer over other providers. We welcome all Pintics customers and are pleased to offer our enterprise suite of Pinterest Analytics and Marketing Products.”
The ShopInterest team received a new investment by 500 Startups, a well known accelerator that has invested in startups like universal translator Babelverse and Chen’s Monogram app. “We are extremely happy to join Mexican.VC and the 500 Startups family, and with their support, we plan to make ShopInterest.co the best ecommerce solution for anyone using Pinterest,” the startup noted on its blog.
The owners of ShopInterest, were one of the top 5 judge’s picks from a pool of 700 submissions. CrowdfunderLA was held on July, 2012. The free event gathered together entrepreneurs in the LA Startup Community to help them kick-start their various ventures. The team won a hosting package from Peak Hosting that included $12,000 worth of free hosting services over a period of a year via Peak Hosting Solutions. After the first year, the company can switch over to managed hosting services through Peak Total Operations.
Similar to ShopInterest, Peak Hosting has also developed ways to foster business-related activities through their StartUp Act, a program that offers subsidized hosting packages for new entrepreneurs and start-ups. As businesses begin to incorporate more ways to extend their product offering to empower consumers, economic opportunities can be implemented through new ideas, technologies and applications.
