(The Hosting News) – Groups are in talks to purchase Go Daddy Inc. according to an initial report by the New York Post.
The potential transaction is said to involve a joint venture between private equity firms KKR and Silver Lake. The deal could be worth over two billion dollars.
An agreement on the transaction could be announced sometime next week.
The information came from an anonymous source. However, due to the privacy of the talks, the source wouldn’t reveal their identity.
The domain registrar began looking for potentials buyers by hiring an investment bank last year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
GoDaddy’s site GoDaddy.com hosts over 45 million domains and is one of the largest domain providers in the world. It was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.
