(The Hosting News) – SplitmediaLabs is a world leader in multimedia and screen capture technology. The company is behind what is probably the most popular and widely used virtual screen capture source (direct show filter) known as VH Screen Capture driver (VHScrCap) and followed this success up with the release of VH Java Screen Capture Toolkit, a platform independent solution which includes flash recording and live streaming via RTMP and RTMPT.
VH Java Media Toolkit 3.0 is a result of many months of dedicated work by SplitmediaLabs Chief Scientist Vladimir Hmelyoff and his team to enhance the VH Java Screen Capture Toolkit 2.0 to offer a complete developer solution for platform independent web based multimedia applications.
“We have kept the short name ‘JScrCap’, but I am very pleased to see that this java toolkit has grown up to become much more than a screen capture solution,” says Chief Scientist Vladimir Hmelyoff.
VH Java Media Toolkit now offers several source modules which include screen capture, IP camera capture and web camera capture. The web camera capture source module is still only in beta stage, but the toolkit and all other optional source modules are immediately available. The screen capture feature has been expanded to include application and window based capture including remote screen control on Windows, Mac and even the most popular flavors of Linux.
The Java toolkit supports flash based recording and encoding using both SVC 2 (Screen Video Codec 2) and optionally h.264, which is recommended for capture sources such as web cameras. Currently the toolkit supports all versions of Flash Media Server from V. 3.53 and RED 5 V0.9 or higher.
