(The Hosting News) – Web-centric company United Internet on Monday announced its acquisition of Spain-based web hosting provider Arys, a company that employs 290 people.
The buyout accounts for a 100% stake and is made possible by United Internet’s work with private equity firms Carlyle Group and Mercapital.
“Whereas we proved in the past that we can achieve rapid organic growth on the Spanish market, we are now expanding our presence in a second stage with the acquisition of Arsy,” commented United Internet AG CEO Ralph Dommermuth via a press release. “At the same time, we are strengthening ourselves in Spain with the addition of skilled staff, an established brand, and a large client base.”
Arsys has more than 150 thousand customers and accounts for 40 million EUR in sales.
Among United Internet’s most popular brands are 1&1, Fasthosts, mail.com and Sedo.
