
(The Hosting News) – GreenSoft Solution announced a security upgrade to its Client Portal, which offers it’s clients secure access to their system activity. This allows GSI clients to access the Client Portal by using PhoneFactor two-factor authentication, which uses any phone as a second form of authentication. This new two-factor method replaces the former authentication method which utilized a username and password for verification purposes.
GSI supports the health of our clients overall business processes through our managed service delivery, and with this enhancement to our Client Portal, our clients can now more securely conduct their own real-time health checks at any time, said Kelly Kephart, CEO of GSI. The client can assess exactly what GSI is doing for them on a daily basis. And they can use the tool as yet another avenue of communication with GSI to perform administrative functions, as well as view specifics like capacity and device status.
The implementation of the PhoneFactor service is in line with GSI’s customized secure managed services that often require specific compliance with Payment Card Industry or other data security standards. GSI conducted in-depth analysis of how to provide its clients the most comprehensive view of their daily activities, in the most secure manner. GSI’s subsequent decision to use the two-factor authentication service means that, before granting the client entry into the Client Portal, the PhoneFactor system calls a client-provided phone number and requests verification of the client’s PIN.
Once in the Client Portal, clients have access to comprehensive information specific to their account, such as trouble ticket history and status, records of communication with GSI, bandwidth usage, server status, and much more. They can also define who, within their company, can have access to the Client Portal.
