(The Hosting News) – ViaWest has announced expansion of data center capacity in the Utah market. The expansion will encompass an additional 14,000+ square feet in the western-most of the company’s three Salt Lake City area data centers. The construction is already underway, and is slated for completion in the 4th quarter of 2010.
“This expansion was driven by continued requests for growth capacity by current customers, as well as increased demand from prospective customers,” said Steve Prather, ViaWest’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Development. “With several recent infrastructure and network augmentations, we were already in position to quickly respond to the demand. We have experienced consistent quarterly growth in Utah, and specifically in Salt Lake City. This capacity addition is a good representation of our continued commitment in this market.”
In addition to the three Utah facilities, ViaWest’s national footprint also includes four enterprise-class data centers in Denver, six in the Dallas area, as well as one in Austin, Las Vegas, and in Portland, Oregon.
