(The Hosting News) – Colo provider ViaWest on Tuesday announced the official opening of its new data center located in North Las Vegas.
The move follows an initial announcement by the company regarding the facility’s construction during the latter half of last year.
The data center has an impressive Tier IV designation signaling it as “fault-tolerant” and protected versus a variety of issues including fire. The data center also encompasses 110 thousand square feet.
“We are excited to open such an amazing facility,” commented ViaWest Regional VP Michael Vignato in a press release.
Calling the city an “excellent location,” Vignato highlighted the area’s “low risk for natural disaster and an arid climate that contributes to this facility reaching an expected Power Use Effectiveness (PUE) rating of 1.2.”
The company, meanwhile, intends to hold an Open House at the site on the 28th of February – providing for tours, food and events.
ViaWest has other data center presences in U.S. cities including Dallas, Denver, Austin, Portland and Salt Lake city.
