(The Hosting News) – Data Center builder Digital Realty Trust has been selected by Visa Europe to build a new UK-based data center, the company announced Wednesday.
In a press release, Visa Europe CIO Steve Chambers stated, “Visa is committed to consistently providing its European customers with robust, reliable and secure payment services, and to achieve this we rely on state of the art data centre facilities which provide the foundation for our business.”
Although many details have yet to be revealed, the 10,000 square foot facility with raised floor space is expected to be constructed around London, England.
In May, Digital Realty Trust released a study indicating that over 80% of companies in Europe planned to expand their data centers next year.
Digital Realty Trust is based in San Francisco, CA and has constructed over 70 data centers worldwide.
