Burlington, Massachusetts – (The Hosting News) – October 13, 2009 – Web hosting provider, FatCow, has launched a library of 1000 free web icons that are designed for both PC (XP, Vista) and Mac (OS X) users.
Now available for download, the icons are free to the public for any type of use. The extensive set of free icons includes popular RSS feed, iPod, Twitter and emoticon options, as well as a variety of application commands. The flexible set offers both 16- and 32-pixel versions of each icon, perfect for design applications, custom templates and personal use. Additional versions, suitable for desktop and Photoshop use, will soon be offered on the site in the appropriate formats.
Paul Bukhovko, Marketing Manager at FatCow explained, ”We wanted to do something for the web design community and we’ve seen a demand among our customers for cool, clean icons. You don’t even have to host with FatCow to take advantage of the free web icons.”
Because they are available under a Creative Commons 3.0 License, the icons are open to the public for any type of private or commercial use, provided that proper credit is given to FatCow, with a link to the icon page.
According to Mr. Bukhovko, FatCow is working on additions to the 1000 free web icons, and urges customers to check back with FatCow’s icon page for news on what’s to come. This includes a set of specialized free iPhone custom icons, currently in the works, which will allow users to give their iPhones a personalized look and feel.
FatCow provides shared web hosting solutions for individuals and small to medium sized businesses looking for an affordable, reliable web hosting option. FatCow pioneered the ”one plan one price” philosophy when it began offering its signature all-in-one website hosting solution, The FatCow, back in 1998.
