(The Hosting News) – As part of their latest internet venture AVOS, YouTube co-founders Steven Chen and Chad Hurley have acquired Yahoo’s Delicious, the bookmarking site that allows users to save, explore, and share their favorite things online.

Chen and Hurley have teamed up to create the new company AVOS and it appears that Delicious will take a leading role in its development.

AVOS Ceo and co-YouTube founder Chad Hurley stated, “We’re excited to work with this fantastic community and take Delicious to the next level”.

The site had faced the threat of closure under Yahoo, who planned to shut it down had they not sold it by July.

Some analysts believe the site was neglected under Yahoo, all while the popular internet search engine faced job cuts and large competition from main competitor Google.

Yahoo is expected to maintain the site until sometime in July when AVOS takes charge.

In a recent statement, Yahoo noted, “We continuously evaluate and prioritize our portfolio of products and services, and do plan to shut down some products in the coming months such as Yahoo Buzz, our Traffic APIs, and others”.
