(The Hosting News) – On Thursday Colorado based bandwidth infrastructure company, Zayo, announced that it had acquired CoreXchange through its zColo division, states a press release from Zayo.
The $17.5 million purchase of the Dallas based data center and bandwidth firm will add another new data center for zColo, totaling to more than 18,000 square feet of data center space.
zColo intends to integrate CoreXchange’s online presence, ColoUnlimited, to Zayo’s Tranzact Internet Portal, enabling customers to add services and products.
Adding this new facility expands Zayo’s presence in the Dallas area, where its footprint already spans to more than 500 route miles and over 250 on-net buildings.
“Dallas is one of the world’s leading corporate headquarter hubs and has seen tremendous growth in the high tech and energy fields,” said Chris Morley, president at Zayo Group. “Expanding the zColo footprint not only provides more alternatives for colocation in the Dallas market, but provides easier access for customers to tap into Zayo’s international Bandwidth Infrastructure footprint.”
This acquisition brings Zayo’s total data center count to 27 locations across the U.S.
